JDPC Onitsha visited Rex Universorum Hospital Mmiata Anam to mark UN World Humanitarian Day
The UN World Humanitarian day is an international celebration held worldwide on 19th August to honour all humanitarian workers who risk their lives to help save and improve the lives of others, and to rally support for people affected by crises around the world. JDPC Onitsha was not left out, as it carried out humanitarian intervention by visiting Rex Universorum Hospital Mmiata Anam to pay hospital bills amounting to one hundred thousand naira (N100, 000) for 7 in-patients who are unable to settle their medical expenses in the hospital. The cheque was presented by Ex Executive Director, JDPC Onitsha Rev. Fr. Dr. Edwin Udoye to the Management of the Hospital.
The Executive Director while giving out the cheque, appreciated the good work of the management and all staff and he went on to encourage them to keep up their humanitarian service in face of all odds. The management and staff were also appreciative of the support and gratitude by JDPC Onitsha.
The N100, 000 is expected to settle hospital bills for identified 6 female and 1 male, and among these 7 Patients were 2 nursing mothers.
The visitation ended with a group photograph with the Hospital management, few hospital staffs, beneficiaries of the gesture and JDPC staff.
