Welcome to Justice Development and Peace/Caritas (JDPC), Onitsha Archdiocese

WHO WE ARE

JDPC Onitsha is a registered non-governmental and faith-based organization that has the vision to see a society where justice, equity, development and peace reign with the disposition to promote the dignity of the vulnerable and marginalized.

WHERE WE WORK

Our priority target populations are women and children in rural and urban areas, indigent citizens, people with disabilities, the youths, including adolescents and the elderly. In addition,  the following target groups will also be engaged: policy makers at all levels, Civil Society Organisations  (CSOs), Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs), Professional Bodies, Media Organisations, community leaders, traditional and religious leaders, women and market leaders.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  1. Knowledge and access to environmental justice among urban dwellers and other necessary stakeholders increased
  2. Access of orphan and vulnerable children to dignified living improved
  3. The rights of the victimized and vulnerable to access justice protected.
  4. Participation among the marginalized in a democratic governance process increased
  5. Human livelihood in poor and rural communities improved
  6. People in need/emergency situations assisted
  7. Youth education and entrepreneurial skills for meaningful livelihood enhanced

OUR STRATEGY

  1. Standardized trainings and capacity buildings for citizens, groups, and workers.
  2. Youth education, entrepreneurship and empowerment
  3. Sensitization of the general public on pertinent and emerging issues
  4. Direct empowerment programmes (uplifting living conditions of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized).
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism
  6. Advocacy (responding promptly through advocacy and activism to the need of the poor, marginalized and vulnerable in our immediate and remote environment).
  7. Collaboration, Partnership and networking with other similar organizations and donor agencies
  8. Organized Caritas and humanitarian services.
  9. Stakeholders or power analysis and perception survey.
