Observance of International Day for Violence Against Women and Girls by JDPC Onitsha in Consortium with Parish-Based JDPCs

On Sunday, November 26, 2023, JDPC Onitsha, in collaboration with parish-based JDPCs, observed the International Day for Violence Against Women and Girls at Sacred Heart Parish, Umusiome, St. Alphonsus Nkpor Uno. The activities took place during Holy Masses and in collaboration with Nnobi Regional Laity Council during their meeting, focusing on the following key topics:

  1. Talk on Physical Violence, Sexual Violence, and Child Marriage.
  2. Ways to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
  3. Possible Solutions to Violence Against Women and Girls.
  4. Channels of Reporting.

Approximately 1,800 people, including men, women, boys, girls, and children, were sensitized during these sessions.
