The Archbishop of Onitsha Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke fulfilled the promise he made after the 2017 flood disaster to offer three years scholarship to pupils and students of primary and secondary schools in riverine communities covering Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum and Ogbaru LGAs. The Archbishop within the three years paid teachers’ salaries to the tune N135, 000,000. JDPC Onitsha appreciates the Archbishop for this gratuitous and humanitarian intervention. Equally 23 students sponsored by the Archbishop graduated in Veritas University last year. Presently 14 students have been enrolled in the sponsorship. AB pays N8, 680,000 annually.

OUR CAUSES
Bursary Support: JDPC Onitsha has supported and given access to education to 58 indigent and vulnerable children ranging from primary and secondary schools to the tune of N 520,000.00. Many of the bursary beneficiaries are orphans, pupils with single parents and economically disadvantaged households. This intervention has saved many vulnerable children from hazards of truancy, child abuse, street loitering and domestic slavery.
