This project purely empowers rural women in rural and riverine communities for increase in agricultural production and income generation. The project was executed through information meeting, loan disbursement, review meeting and later loan repayment at Umuleri and Aguleri. Importantly, the beneficiaries were taught mechanism of accessing loans, financial management and saving cultures. 38 beneficiaries have been empowered.
The scheme was initiated by Open hands founds foundation, switzaland in 2010. the project already has impacted the livelihood of the rural women in and farmers in these communities; Mmiata-Anam, Umuoba-Anam, Umudora-Anam, Omor, Atani, Akili-ozizor, Umueri, Aguleri, Anaku, Ogwu-ikpele, Oromaetiti, Nando and Egoja.
