JDPC Onitsha observed UN International Women’s Day at, drawing the participation of thirty women leaders. The executive director, Rev. Fr. Dr. Edwin Udoye, addressed the assembly, shedding light on this year’s theme – “Inspire Inclusion.” He delved into the social and cultural barriers that impede women’s rights to inheritance.
Bar. Aloysius Obumneme Ezeonu contributed valuable insights, offering solutions from scriptural, customary, and legal perspectives on ensuring women’s access to justice, particularly concerning inheritance rights. His discourse on “Inspiring Women’s Inclusion: Access to Inheritance Right” provided a comprehensive understanding of the issue.
The attendees, equipped with newfound knowledge, are poised to disseminate the training outcomes within their respective communities, fostering greater awareness and advocating for women’s rights.
