World Day for Grandparents and Elderly 2025:
JDPC Onitsha celebrated World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly at Holy Cross Parish Nkpor with the theme “Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Lose Hope.” The highlights of the event included:
1. Eucharistic celebration.
2. Talk on Aging Gracefully – biologically, mentally, emotionally and physically.
3. Funfair activities on games like Ludo, Nchor, Handball, and Whot, with gifts presented to the winners
4. Traditional songs and dancing
5. Traditional and local delicacies such as fio-fio, ukwa, plantain porridge and fruit drinks.
6. Distribution of free and take-home gifts.
Sixty participants attended the event. JDPC is grateful to Very Fr. Joseph Ezeugo and parishioners who awesomely supported the programme. The participants were overwhelmed with joy for being remembered and celebrated.
