JDPC Onitsha in collaboration with Development Initiative for Technology and Empowerment (DEV-ITEM) Marks UN International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Theme: ORANGE THE WORLD: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect.
Significant activity of the day was to raise awareness of various violence against women and Girls.
The Important need for sex education for both the girl and boy child was highlighted.
Equally, integration of men into the program, value orientation and proper and proactive parenting were prominently discussed as measures to eliminate violence against women. We had representatives from the CWO from the 6 regions, CMO, CYON, Laity Council and other individuals who are expected to carry out a step down awareness program to their various region and groups. Total number of participants 23 females and 16 males.
