Violence against women and girls is one of the most pressing challenges to human rights worldwide. According to a 2013 WHO global study, 35 percent of women globally have endured either physical and/or sexual violence. Shockingly, some studies in Nigeria revealed that as many as 70 percent of women have faced physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetimes at the hands of an intimate partner.
Alarming statistics from the UN report that 137 women fall victim to family-related violence daily. Astonishingly, less than 40 percent of those affected seek no any form of assistance.
“Empower women today, and together we can reshape the narrative toward a fairer, more equitable, and violence-free world. Your valuable support on this International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women is the key to unlocking a brighter future for all”.
